NOLA Holiday Helper Event
I was honored to be invited to attend the NOLA Holiday Helper Event, as a VIP blogger, this past Friday night. Beyond honored, I was abso-freakin-lutely thrilled to use it as another great excuse for a Mom's night out ( MNO as I recently heard it called).
The lovely ladies behind this great event were some fellow Mom Bloggers that I really look up to in all my novice-blogger-naivety. I love to see Moms who excel at multi-tasking and are great at what they do! It is so encouraging to see that it is possible to blog, Mother, work, and put together amazing events such as the NOLA Holiday Helper Event. Big thanks (and major pats on the back) to Bridgette from The Experimental Mommy, Renee from What Mommies Want, and Linzy from Crawfish Tales. You ladies put on such an enjoyable and comfortable event from a consumer standpoint and yet also provided great press for all sponsors involved. The foods, items, and services showcased were all amazing! The hosts thought of and supplied everything a Mom could want for her night out (except maybe some wine hehe).
Each table had a festive centerpiece.
Katie Moore from WWLTV was the emcee for the night. She was upbeat, fun, and easy to relate to as she spoke a little about herself as a new Mom.
Ochsner Hospital sponsored this wonderful event. There was a talk by local Ochsner pediatrician, Dr. Samira Brown, about keeping your kids healthy this cold and flu season. I thought it was a very applicable topic for a room full of Moms.
The hosts from afar in their reindeer regalia.
Festive music played in the background further setting the mood.
Aveda had a table showcasing some of the gift sets available this season.
I especially liked the lip gloss and cute little purse-like packaging. I was also elated to find a full size Aveda lipgloss in my swag bag when I got home!
Aveda must know that Moms are all in need of some extra pampering. Here is my friend Urmi enjoying a hand massage.
Winn-Dixie had a cupcake decorating station. It was fun to learn how to correctly pipe leaves and holly berries on with icing.
Ashley from the New Orleans Moms Blog trying out her skills!
Neutrogena had a table where they were demonstrating some of their products and even doing color matching for foundation.
There were tons of toys and holiday gifts from companies such as Step 2, Tiny Love, American Girl Collection, Little Pnuts, Bright Starts, and many many more.
Graceful Events had an example of a Candy Bar set up. If you need one for an upcoming event theirs was certainly beautiful. I wish I could have a candy bar at my house for every holiday.
There was tons of yummy food from several different restaurants. These delicious sandwiches were from Whole Foods. There was also some seriously intense bread pudding from Copelands. It really put me over the edge haha.
At the end of the night many of the toys and holiday items were given away based upon when your number (on your id tag) was called. It was really exciting to be able to walk around the room and place a bow on a present to take home. I was thrilled to get a $200.00 credit to Gallery Direct! Can't wait to use it to showcase one of my new family photos!
Everyone also received an awesome swag bag of goodies, a cookbook, lip gloss, coupons, and several other full size products. I wasn't able to mention all of the fabulous sponsors and things that were present at this event but as you can see it was chock full of information, holiday prizes, food, and fun. If you missed it this year you'll want to make sure to try to attend next time. If you're not already following the lovely event hosts I suggest you do so to keep up to date on events such as this one. I suspect that once word gets out this is going to be one of the hottest tickets in town!
