GoodNight Series of Board Books

    Our World of Books

I have talked about Weston's new love of reading books on the blog a couple times now. First we reviewed Blue Manatee Book Boxes and then we checked out Baby Lit's classic board books. Now we have found an an awesome series of books called  "Good Night Our World." Good Night Our World books are designed to take your child on a virtual ride from morning to night in a variety of places around the world. I love that there is a book in this series that every family will be able to relate to. We were sent an assortment of books to check out including Goodnight Farm, Goodnight World, Goodnight Chicago, Goodnight Beach and several others. There were three books that really touched me personally.

The first of those books was Goodnight Miami. With homesickness starting to creep in, it really made me nostalgic for all the fun places of our past. It was so fun to be able to read to him about Zoo Miami, Jungle Island, and South Beach. Places Evan and I visited before Weston existed and even when I was pregnant with him.

The second book that really stood out was Goodnight New Orleans. New Orleans is our new home. We haven't been able to hit all of the family friendly sites as of yet and we have not yet been to our first Mardi Gras (which locals say is really the experience that will make us love it here). It was neat to read about all the sites and adventures we still have to look forward to together as a family. A virtual checklist, if you will, of all of the fun that is to come.  We even chose to have some of our family photos taken with the book Goodnight New Orleans. Such a great way to represent our first year in this new place. You can't see the book very well in this picture but I know that the symbolism will mean something to me as I look back upon these photos years from now.

The third book Id like to highlight is Goodnight North Pole. The minute the calendar hits December 1st I'm going to bust out the Christmas carols (and menorah...we are a multi-tradition family but more on that later) and the holiday cheer. We are going to carol, bake, decorate, and READ our little holiday hearts out. Enter Goodnight North Pole. Can't wait to read it to Weston with some milk and cookies by our tree.

The bottom line with this series is that there is a board book for every family and almost every circumstance. Commemorate a vacation, learn about a place your going, learn about a part of the country you aren't even planning on visiting, check out the world. All of these experiences are available through these books. I promise these books are way cheaper than booking a flight :)

These books are priced at $9.95 and can be purchased wherever books are sold or direct from the publisher at www.ipgbook.com. Make sure to check out their website and enter the rafflecopter below for your chance to win one of two sets of six assorted Goodnight Our World books.

UPDATE: The giveaway has ended. Congrats to the winners,
Mindy M. and Ashely S.
