Totseat-A Portable HighChair

One of the best parts about moving to New Orleans has been experiencing the amazing cuisine that this colorful city has to offer. Unfortunately, several of the smaller restaurants around the city lack high-chairs (I'm looking at you Green Goddess). Prior to finding the Totseat, by TrendyKid, a restaurant without a highchair would have been a deal breaker for us. Now that we have the Totseat we can head out to any restaurant without fear of the dreaded highchair-less dilemma.

A little taller than a can of coke!

When I received the Totseat my first thought was, "Its the perfect size." The Totseat is extremely compact and even folds up into its own little travel bag. This is a must when you are already traveling with so much baby paraphernalia. My second thought was, "I wonder how easy it is to use?" I have to tell you, I was so pleasantly surprised at how quickly I took this product out of the packaging, placed it over the chair, and installed my baby (for lack of a better description). I also love that this product is completely machine washable. My messy little man can do his worst and then I can fold the Totseat in its little carrying sack, cart it home, and throw it in the wash.

The first time I used the Totseat was when I had some friends over for an afternoon play date. We only have one highchair so little Aila used the Totseat for snack time. She seemed happy and comfortable, and was able to enjoy snack time right along with the rest of us. The Totseat was a really great way to have an extra highchair on hand without having having to buy another bulky, expensive, baby item. The Totseat can be used for any child that can sit unsupported from age 8-30 months.

Weston and Aila enjoying snack together with the help of the Totseat.

It is important to note that the Totseat is not a booster seat. It does not change the height at which your child sits. This means that depending on the height of the table, your child may not be at the level they would need to be at to eat from the table (as they would in a high chair). That being said, in a restaurant situation, if I can have Weston well secured in the Totseat, I then have my hands free to hand him little morsels of food. Another important point is that the Totseat does not have a five point harness. One of my wishes for this product line is that future generations will have a five point restraint. While this is by no means a deal breaker, I would certainly not place my child in the Totseat and then walk away. This product is for use with supervision only.

In summary the Totseat is portable, washable, and easy to use. The Totseat can be used for any child that can sit unsupported from age 8-30 months and can be used on almost any adult sized chair.
The Totseat retails for $34.99.

UPDATE: The giveaway has ended. Congrats to the winner,
Raquel S.

  7. my daughter loves to squirm out of any sort of belt or holding device! Eating out is always funny because the restraints on the restaurant high chairs are always so big!

  8. So handy! My daughter has an insanely early bedtime (5:30pm!) so we rarely have dinner out with her, but she does ok for lunch as long as we have plenty of little toys or other items to keep her attention.

  14. My children love to go out to eat. My daughter is so social and loves to people watch. This would also be really helpful for those restaurants that DO have highchairs...but with broken seat belts! :( Those don't do much good!

  21. Right now my little one is 3 months old, so eating out with her is easy! I love seeing her watch the world go by from our arms. As she gets bigger though, it's getting harder - soon she is not going to be content sitting in our laps!
